However, it was the "Matrix" that truly showcased the depth of inhumanity being born and living out one's life entirely in an artificial womb with only the power of machines for life and mental support could be. Stark as that possibility was which should have served as a warning, was completely ignored.
Cue the 'Extracorporeal System for Physiological Fetal Support' or the artificial womb called, 'The Biobag'. Yep, 'those maniacs finally went and did it' to quote a famous astronaut on a beach about 3,000 years from now.
The Biobag has been successfulin bringing premature lambs to term in recent experiments conducted by surgeons at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. The 'good news' for humanity is the Biobag is intended for bringing premature babies to term and according to Children's Hospital Surgeon Alan Fleck, "It's science fiction' to believe you can take an embryo to term with our machine."
But, anyone who has ever written science-fiction knows, 'it's science fiction, until it becomes science....'
